ABOUT YUN WEN
Yun Wen began her filmmaking journey in 2018, studying at an art school in Beijing. In 2019, she advanced her skills in Hong Kong, where she studied creative advertising on a scholarship. She later moved to the UK, completing her studies at Lancaster University, where she graduated with a First-Class BA in Film. Her directorial debut, Boarding the Midnight Train, won the Best Student Film award at the Portugal Indie Film Festival in 2023.
Yun is deeply passionate about visual storytelling, believing that a single frame can often communicate more powerfully than words. She values the beauty of human connection and strives to capture subtle, yet profound emotions that resonate with audiences on a personal level.
In addition to filmmaking, Yun has pursued photography since the age of 15, receiving her first exhibition award at 17. She is drawn to art and fashion photography, where she channels her creative visions. For Yun, art transcends life; she prefers to capture a mood or a reflection of life through her lens rather than merely documenting it. Her projects often serve as visual expressions of her thoughts and imagination.
